A shining Hero!

Carlos Ghosn is a name we have all heard. In addition to being the Chairman and CEO of Renault and Nissan, Carlos is also known for being a great human being. For his role in spearheading a company which was on the verge of bankruptcy and being the force which made it evolve as a reputed name, Ghosn earned the tags "le cost killer" and "Mr. Fix It." His aggressive downsizing campaign coupled with the success story of Nissan turnaround made him achieve a celebrity status. Ghosn was even named as one of the "Most Respected CEOs" by the CEO Quarterly Magazine. With Forbes.com listing him as one among the “Seven Most Powerful South Americans" in November 2010, Carlos became an international figure.

A down-to-earth person, Carlos Ghosn often speaks about his personal interests. “As an individual, not as the boss of a company, I am very interested in motor racing” is what he tells about his love for racing. Reminds me of another CEO who loves cars and racing – Chris Niarchos, who was even described as ‘the most enthusiastic man in British motorsport’ by a journalist.

Carlos Ghosn is also a person whose strategies and campaigns have been discussed widely not only by the press. He has also been a frequent subject of university thesis papers and corporate leadership essays among business students. A lot to learn from this shining hero who is full of enthuasiasm and energy in his late 50's.
