Happy 2017, Everyone!
As usual, we’re a bit late to the party – we can’t go and set too high a standard for ourselves at the beginning of the year… right? ^^;; 2016 has come and gone. And frankly, I don’t think we’re alone in saying “Good riddance!” as we ride into the new year.
Now, let’s get down to business:
If you’re still visiting after all this time, I don’t think I need to tell you that we were pretty terrible about providing content for you in 2016. We’re committed to changing that though – the stats show that you’re still committed to visiting us, and we want to make sure you’re enjoying the time you spend with us – we’re working on a content schedule to try to get this thing going somewhere that you’ll all enjoy… As it stands, I’m not sure what this is going to look like yet – we’re revisiting some of the ideas we tabled shortly after the inception of Henshin Heroes and seeing what is and isn’t feasible for us.
We’ve been primarily pushing content via Facebook and Instagram as this is where we can best engage with the tokusatsu community – if you haven’t connected with us on social media, we encourage you to do so; this is where the majority of our updates in the immediate future will come through until we can get the wheels in motion for the main site here.
2017 isn’t just an exciting year for Henshin Heroes – both Super Sentai and Kamen Rider look to have an amazing year in store for us all. Kamen Rider Ex-Aid has been off to a fantastic start, and Zyuohger is winding down (quite well, we might add) as it reaches its conclusion. We can’t wait to see how the story ends for our Zyuman heroes, and we’re dying with anticipation for the upcoming Uchuu Sentai Kyuranger.
In case you’ve been living under a rock… or just want to oggle at the new team formation again:
For the sake of fairness, we try to keep this site spoiler free. That said, if you haven’t yet seen the Kamen Rider Ex-Aid Christmas Special – you really need to get on that. It’s a roller coaster of feels, and I feel confident in saying that we’ve never seen a Kamen Rider series get this exciting this early in its run – we hope this is a sign of things to come, and not and early show of momentum that’s going to fall short – we’re confident in the former, and can’t wait to see what’s in store.
In all truthfulness, I felt that Zyuohger was starting to get a bit stale after about Episode 38 – my dear Koyomi remained optimistic, and I’m happy to say that I was wrong; as Zyuohger winds toward its conclusion, I get the feeling it’s going to end just as strong as it started. While I find Misao generally irritating, I feel that this Sentai team is comprised of some of the most likable characters that we’ve seen in a long time.
If you haven’t heard the news already, Shout Factory has wasted no time in licensing Gekisou Sentai Carranger (Power Rangers Turbo, for those of you new to the world of Tokusatsu) for release on DVD in the US. Pre-order your discs over at Amazon.
And if all of that wasn’t enough news for today, we’ll leave you with this:
We’ve got a bunch of exciting new acquisitions in the air from Japan, and we have a whole mess of pictures from the Henshin Heroes holiday haul that we’ll be trickling over Instagram and Facebook in the coming weeks.
Until next time folks!
